Physical Rehabilitation

The Underwater Treadmill is a treadmill that is contained in a water tight chamber.  Water is the perfect medium for low impact exercise and aids in post-surgery recovery by decreasing recovery time. The water helps to support the weight of the animal and reduces stress on the animal’s joints.  This means that animals who may not be able to support themselves outside of the tank yet, can walk in the underwater treadmill.  The water provides additional resistance when the animal moves so the animal can get more of a workout in less time.  This is also a great way for them to lose weight.

We also use Electrical Stimulation for pain relief and muscle re-education.
