Dr. Debra Szpicek received her bachelor of science from Mercy College in 1998, became licensed as a veterinary technologist, and went on to receive her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2002.

She is married to associate veterinarian Anthony Smatt, and they have three children—Robert, Zachary and Jaida. Dr. Szpicek is the proud owner of four dogs, two cats, and a bearded dragon named Balboa. Her hobbies include photography and dance.
