Flannery Animal Hospital - Meet Our Blood Donors

April 1, 2000 – March 28, 2009
Benny was not only a loving, devoted family member, but he was also a life saving blood donor. He was one of the original donors at Flannery Animal Hospital and because of his family's dedication, devotion and selflessness to the program, it has grown into what it is today.

Benny saved countless lives through his donations, giving other families more precious time with their companions. For this we remember him as a hero.

Benny was a Blue and Liver German Shepherd from Sacramento, CA who was playful, fun loving, adventurous, and truly a puppy at heart. Everyday Benny was here with us, he brought a smile to our faces. He will always be remembered in our hearts, and will live on in the hearts of all the families he's helped keep together. He will never be forgotten.

The garden located on the side of Flannery Animal Hospital is a tribute to Benny and all the beloved pets that have passed on. It's designed to be a Sanctuary for those struggling with loss and a way to memorialize and honor our four-legged family members.

Lava’s owner shared the following poem with Flannery Animal Hospital:

Go......Go......Go
Retrieve the ball, the cat, whatever!
Always wet, swims in water dish!
Go.......Go......Go
Quick nap, still going (when asleep),
fell out of bed twice!
Loves everyone!
Go.......Go......Go
so much to do!

Sophie Lippincott - blood donor
 Sophie Lippincott
Sophie is a Springer Spaniel whose owner signed her up for the Blood Donor Program. Her owner is happy that Sophie is able to give blood when needed to help other dogs. Sophie is a sweet, laid back dog who is so loving. Her owner says that if she could talk, she is certain that Sophie would be glad that she is able to help other dogs in need.

Bailey Turski
Bailey is a three year old, black lab mix and a big bundle of fun! His favorite toy is a green frog that he loves to tease his best friend Eddie with. Bailey loves raw veggies and peanut butter. Every morning after breakfast he throws his bone into the kitchen wanting it stuffed with peanut butter for dessert.

Bailey is a sweet, gentle guy and loves helping his friends at Flannery's by being a blood donor.
